Thessaloniki “Makedonia” Airport has been awarded as one of the top airports in Europe

Distinguished in the "2022 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards" as one of Europe's top airports in the category "5 to 15 million passengers per year"

Fraport Greece was recently awarded at the international  "2022 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards"  for  Thessaloniki “Makedonia” Airport  as one of the top airports in Europe, in the category of airports handling 5 to 15 million passengers per year. A special feature of this institution is that the award criteria are based on direct evaluation by the traveler, which is carried out on the day of the journey, providing the fullest possible picture of the passenger's experience and satisfaction.

Specifically, the  ASQ Awards  are part of  Airports Council International's (ACI) global airport rating programme, presenting, each year, the world's top airports as rated by the passengers themselves.

This special distinction for  Thessaloniki “Makedonia” Airport  certifies the high quality of the services offered at the airport. At the same time, it is also a way to enhance the promotion of both the city and the country for the upcoming tourist season, with its first signs showing a positive dynamic.

At the same time, the  high score  of the airport in more than  30 evaluation indicators  included in the relevant ASQ Awards questionnaire, demonstrates the high level of services and standards under which the airport operates.

CEO of Fraport Greece, Alexander Zinell, commented on the award, stating:  “The award that distinguishes Thessaloniki Makedonia Airport as one of the top airports in Europe in its category - and even by the travelers themselves - is an honor for our company, for all its employees, but also for all our partners. As Fraport Greece, we are not complacent. On the contrary, we are committed to continue within this framework, further modernizing the already upgraded 14 regional airports managed and operated by our company. Our goal remains clear and is none other than to offer a safe and memorable travel experience through our participation in the development of Greek tourism and local communities.”
