MOMUS Air Celebrated International Museum Day with an Educational Event at Thessaloniki Airport “Makedonia”
Fraport Greece and MOMUS brought “Imagination in Motion” to children, passengers and airport visitors
On the occasion of International Museum Day, Fraport Greece and MOMUS organised a special educational workshop on Monday, May 18, at MOMUS Air, located at Thessaloniki Airport “Makedonia”, offering children and travellers a unique experience of creativity, art and imagination.
Children from the Children’s Village in Filiro participated in the educational program titled “Imagination in Motion”, where they had the opportunity to engage with contemporary artworks exhibited at MOMUS Air and embark on a creative journey to “imaginary destinations” through images, storytelling and artistic activities.
Inspired by works by renowned artists such as Alexis Akrithakis, Lena Athanasopoulou and Steven Antonakos, the children explored the connection between travel, imagination and art, symbolically transforming the airport into a place of inspiration, creative expression and cultural experience.
Following the workshop, passengers and airport visitors were also invited to join a complimentary guided tour of the MOMUS Air exhibition space, where they could discover a different dimension of the travel experience through contemporary art.
The initiative forms part of the strategic partnership between Fraport Greece and MOMUS, as well as the company’s ongoing commitment to promoting airports as open spaces of culture, creativity and meaningful engagement with local communities.
